Your run in support of young refugees in Ticino.

Young refugees between the ages of 18 and 25 face major challenges.

A lack of support and limited language and cultural understanding make it more difficult to enter the workforce. Support refugees on their journey towards a better future together with The Human Safety Net Switzerland Foundation.

Charity Project 2027

Access to sport and culture for young refugees

Through the mentoring programme of ROCK YOUR LIFE! Svizzera italiana, young refugees gain valuable skills for education and employment. They also want to feel included in their communities during their free time, but many cannot afford to take part in sports and cultural activities. Thanks to donations, ROCK YOUR LIFE! Svizzera italiana covers the costs of courses, club memberships and sports equipment. This enables young refugees to participate regularly, build friendships and feel part of the community. Around 30 young refugees in Ticino benefit from this holistic support each year.

Our Charity Partner: The Human Safety Net Switzerland

The The Human Safety Net Switzerland Foundation promotes the potential and integration of refugees in Switzerland. It supports programmes that help refugees overcome language and cultural barriers and find a job or apprenticeship. One of these is the ROCK YOUR LIFE! mentoring programme.

UNICEF Program

The City of Locarno is pleased to support, together with the Associazione Maratona Ascona-Locarno, the 2025–2028 Action Plan that the city is implementing as part of the UNICEF programme “Child Friendly Community”.

The measures set out in the Action Plan aim to promote the right of children and young people to be heard and to participate in decisions that affect them (Art. 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child).

In particular, Measure 6.1 entitled “Right to Citizenship and Participation” will be expanded through donations to support concrete projects developed by pupils in the municipal schools as part of a participatory process planned for the 2026–2027 school year.
